Friday 22nd May Rounders: Sports field, Station Rd, 6.15pm
Sat 23rd May Annual Gymkhana: Banks Farm, 1pm
Sun 24th May Open quoits competion: The Green Tree 1pm, over £70 prize money to be won
Sun 24th May Village Hall handicraft competition: Judging 12 noon, open to public 3pm
Bank holiday Monday: Decorated tableau/ floats, fancy dress competion and parade 1.30pm
also rodeo bull, bouncy castle, climmbing wall. Northallerton Silver Band, dog show

Brompton Carnival Appeal
Volunteers needed to secure future of Brompton carnival- let's make it a great day again!
The committee wants to hear from anyone interested in joining or becoming a helper.
Help is always needed with collecting jumble; door-to-door collections; leaflet drops; setting up and
helping with gymkhanas and children’s races and the committee also needs people to act as
stewards during the event. If you would like to help can call Anne Cornforth on 01609-775263.

He says "My Grandmother lived on Cockpit Hill,
and my Great Aunt at Water End, so I grew up
with a good view of all parts of Brompton
Carnival. My mother had often entered the fancy
dress as a child.
My own favourite part was always the parade of
juvenile jazz bands. The 1960s and 1970s were
certainly the glory days. You could barely see
the crossroads for crowds; the whole village was
a buzz. They were certainly good times".
